The Georgia Stars Baseball Academy, located in Norcross, GA, is an organization co-founded by Edward Waters and Trent Phillips to provide a program where young aspiring baseball or softball players could improve their overall skills and use the concepts in baseball as a platform for teaching key life lessons. As former athletes, both men understand the parallels that sports can bring to life and seek to help players develop into quality young men in addition to college level baseball players. Leadership, Scholarship, Citizenship, and Sportsmanship are the key pillars of our organization.
We are dedicated to skill and player development and have implemented a core methodology for training and developing our players. Our training program is a rigorous, multi-year blue print built around fundamental development, skill improvement, technique improvement, athletic performance, and superior aptitude for the game. Our goal is for our young men to take the experiences they receive through training, competition, education and volunteerism to build a foundation of productive life skills and to use the game of baseball as a tool to get a scholarship to the university of their choice.
Concepts of teamwork, discipline, confidence, self-esteem, and empathy are core traits that we instill in our players. We have teams starting at ages 9 thru 18 years of age. Our training program ensures that our players can play baseball at the highest levels of competition. Advance skills from college and major league teams are incorporated into our program. Our older teams play baseball around the southeastern United States primarily on college campuses in front of college baseball coaches so that our kids get exposure to the university and their coaches. The ultimate goal is to have the colleges offer our kids baseball scholarships to attend their universities.
