Mr. Henry Aaron, a supporter of the Georgia Stars, came to visit, watch the boys practice and speak with them after they had completed their drills and practice for the afternoon. He talked with the boys about some of the highlights of his record-breaking career as a professional baseball player. He also stressed the importance of discipline, listening to and following the guidance of their coaches and families, and taking good care of their minds and bodies as they strive to realize their dreams, whether those dreams be playing baseball, football, becoming a doctor, lawyer, teacher or anything else they set their minds to become. He even gave them pointers on swinging at the plate, attitude when you stand at the plate to face an opposing pitcher, and the mentality needed to get out of a slump you may find yourself in. We all soaked in every word of wisdom he had for us, and it was an afternoon full of memories we’ll all hold close to our hearts forever.
